Details Introduction
Hollow glass microspheres HL20 is a high-strength polymer filler made of water-resistant, chemically stable borosilicate glass. This type of hollow glass beads are widely used in wood generation, solid buoyancy materials, emulsion explosives, automotive repair putty, coatings and other fields.
HL20 used in wood, paint and buoyancy materials and other industries, in cost savings at the same time, but also can play a role in heat insulation, reduce the proportion, reduce thermal expansion and so on.
| Packing type | Packing size cm | Net weight |
| paper bag | 60*35*15 | 5kg |
| Jumbo bag | 100*100*115 | 140kg |
Across multiple industries, hollow glass microspheres find extensive use. In the automotive sector, they are incorporated into composites to reduce vehicle weight, thereby improving fuel efficiency and overall performance. In the construction industry, they serve as effective insulation materials, enhancing the thermal performance of buildings and contributing to sustainable design goals. Furthermore, their unique properties make them valuable in aerospace applications, where lightweight solutions are paramount for achieving optimal flight characteristics.
One of the distinct selling points of hollow glass microspheres is their ability to provide a significant advantage in material science and engineering. By incorporating these microspheres, manufacturers can achieve weight reductions without sacrificing strength or performance. This not only leads to cost savings but also enables the development of innovative products that were previously constrained by material limitations. Moreover, their eco-friendly nature, combined with recyclability, aligns with the growing trend towards sustainable manufacturing practices.
Instructions for use
Maintaining Product Flowability:
To preserve the product's flow characteristics, store the unopened original packaging in a dry, well-ventilated area with relative humidity below 40%. When stored under these recommended conditions, the hollow glass spheres will maintain their flowability for at least two years from the date of manufacture.
Preventing Breakage of Hollow Glass Spheres:
If the product is strictly processed, it may break. To minimize breakage, minimize exposure to high shear processes and point contact shear, such as gear pumps and three-roll mills. When adding to the drawing material, the material should pass through a side feeder or a top feeder (similar to adding glass fiber).
Product Storage, Operation and Safety
Storage Precautions:
Ideal storage conditions include unopened cartons, which should be in a dry and temperature-controlled warehouse. Exposure of Hollow Glass Sphere to conditions of high humidity and/or easy condensation for a long time may cause microagglomeration of Hollow Glass Sphere.
To minimize the possibility of caking and thus maximize the shelf life, the following recommendations are made:
1. Immediately after use, carefully re-fasten the opened bag.
2. If the polyethylene bag is punctured during transportation or handling, the hole should be sealed as soon as possible or the contents should be inserted into an undamaged bag.
3. In hot and humid months, store the box in a cool and dry place. If the storage conditions cannot be controlled, the minimum inventory is carried and used according to the first-in-first-out principle.
Operation Note:
Hollow Glass Sphere have the characteristics of light weight and small particle size, dust may be generated during handling and processing.
To minimize fugitive dust during handling, consider the following:
1. Do not open the Hollow Glass Sphere package before use.
2. When opening, local dust extraction is carried out near the opening to suck out the floating particles (dust removal equipment is recommended).
3. Use a diaphragm pump (micro positive pressure ventilation) to extract the Hollow Glass Sphere and enter the closed mixing tank through a completely closed pipe. If there is no closed mixing tank, dust removal equipment should be used as close as possible to the inlet.
For container inner bag packaging, the pneumatic conveying system can be used to successfully transport Hollow Glass Sphere from the container to the storage tank or batch mixing equipment without dust removal (it is recommended to consult the relevant equipment supplier).
4. A static eliminator should be used to prevent static buildup.
Safety Precautions:
1. Eye Protection: Safety goggles with side shields must be worn during operation to prevent hollow glass sphere from entering the eyes.
2. Respiratory Protection: Wear a safe and effective dust mask.
3. Ventilation: The work area must be equipped with appropriate dust collection or ventilation systems.
4. Refer to MSDS: Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) provided with the hollow glass spheres.
